urlRoot model.urlRoot or model.urlRoot() Specify a urlRoot if you're using a model outside of a collection, to enable the default url function to generate URLs based on the model id. "[urlRoot]/id" Normally, you won't need to define this. Note that urlRoot may also be a function.

parse model.parse(response, options) parse is called whenever a model's data is returned by the server, in Basketball Harden Joggers In Grey CE7309 Grey adidas Outlet Free Shipping Authentic 4WuBGag4
, and Best Sale For Sale Professional Cheap Online Womens Denver True Icon HWK Ls Dress Calvin Klein Jeans Sale With Mastercard AsCZOGlRL
. The function is passed the raw response object, and should return the attributes hash to be Roksanda contrast ruffle trim dress Ebay Online Eastbay Online Sale 2018 New Geniue Stockist trBw3
on the model. The default implementation is a no-op, simply passing through the JSON response. Override this if you need to work with a preexisting API, or better namespace your responses.

If you're working with a Rails backend that has a version prior to 3.1, you'll notice that its default to_json implementation includes a model's attributes under a namespace. To disable this behavior for seamless Backbone integration, set:

clone model.clone() Returns a new instance of the model with identical attributes.

isNew model.isNew() Has this model been saved to the server yet? If the model does not yet have an id , it is considered to be new.

hasChanged model.hasChanged([attribute]) Has the model changed since its last set ? If an attribute is passed, returns true if that specific attribute has changed.

Note that this method, and the following change-related ones, are only useful during the course of a "change" event.

changedAttributes model.changedAttributes([attributes]) Retrieve a hash of only the model's attributes that have changed since the last set , or false if there are none. Optionally, an external attributes hash can be passed in, returning the attributes in that hash which differ from the model. This can be used to figure out which portions of a view should be updated, or what calls need to be made to sync the changes to the server.

previous model.previous(attribute) During a "change" event, this method can be used to get the previous value of a changed attribute.

previousAttributes model.previousAttributes() Return a copy of the model's previous attributes. Useful for getting a diff between versions of a model, or getting back to a valid state after an error occurs.

Collections are ordered sets of models. You can bind "change" events to be notified when any model in the collection has been modified, listen for "add" and "remove" events, fetch the collection from the server, and use a full suite of Underscore.js methods .

The artist Josef Albers (1888-1976) had many ties to the state of North Carolina and to our own university. Born in Germany, Albers attended the Bauhaus in 1920 and, in 1925, became the first student to be offered a faculty position. He worked there until 1933, when the Nazis forced its closure. Albers and his wife Anni emigrated to America, where Albers became head of the art department at Black Mountain College near Asheville, NC. He remained there until 1949, when he left to become the chairman of the department of design at the Yale University Art School.

Letter from Josef Albers (from the Department of Art Records, #40077, University Archives).

Albers was already an established artist and well known professor when he arrived in the United States, and he was soon lecturing and exhibiting frequently throughout the country. During his tenure at Black Mountain College, he had three shows at UNC’s Person Hall Art Gallery, the precursor to the Ackland Art Museum.

In 1937, Albers wrote to the North Carolina State Arts Society to inquire about showing his abstract work in Chapel Hill. Russell T. Smith, the University’s first full-time teacher of art and head of UNC’s newly established art department, responded a year later, inviting Albers to exhibit at the Person Hall Art Gallery with W. Lester Stevens, a landscape painter from Massachusetts.

Receipt of Delivery (from the Department of Art Records, #40077, University Archives).

The show, which ran from January 8 to January 31, creatively juxtaposed 17 of Albers’s non-objective, “ultra-modern” works with the conservative, New England landscapes by Stevens.

Although there are no photographs, or even a program from the exhibition, since the show later traveled and the Gallery had to ship his paintings to the next venue, we know the titles of the works that were shown because of a receipt of delivery from the Addison Gallery of American Art in Massachusetts.

Letter from Albers (from the Department of Art Records, #40077, University Archives).

Albers exhibited again in 1943 and 1949 at the Person Hall Gallery. In 1943, his works were shown along side the weavings of his wife, Anni. His one-man show of 1949 would be his last at Person Gallery and his last as a resident of North Carolina. In June of that year the Albers resigned from their positions at Black Mountain and relocated to Connecticut.

In 1967, The UNC Art Department recognized Josef Albers with an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts for his many artistic and academic accomplishments.

Times New Roman = I don't care.

It’s Times New Roman, of course, the ubiquitous typeface of uncaring attorneys. It resides on just about every personal computer in the world, since it’s a system font on both PCs and Macs. More importantly, it was long the default font for Microsoft Word, which itself is the default word processor for lawyers nationwide. (In 2007, Microsoft replaced Times New Roman with a new sans serif font called Calibri. As a sans serif font, it lacks the little feet — serifs — at the ends of letters. This makes it better suited for on-screen reading, but worse for reading in print.)

Lawyers not being too technologically advanced, they ended up using the default font on the default word processor for all of their documents. As a result, most legal documents (including letters and memos) are stuck in the rut that is Times New Roman.

has to say. Butterick is a California lawyer, but before that, he was a Boston font designer. In addition to running his LA litigation firm, Butterick Law Corporation , he also consults as a typographic expert. His new book, Typography for Lawyers , is available from Amazon (affiliate link).

Here’s what Butterick has to say about the message you send when you use Times New Roman:

When Times New Roman appears in a book, document, or advertisement, it connotes apathy. It says, “I submitted to the font of least resistance.” Times New Roman is not a font choice so much as the absence of a font choice, like the blackness of deep space is not a color. To look at Times New Roman is to gaze into the void.…

If you have a choice about using Times New Roman, please stop. Use something else.

This study sought to evaluate information literacy among two cohorts of first-year, dental students, as well as to assess their preferred methods of conducting online searches. This information was then evaluated with respect to student performance. These results strongly suggested that a large percentage of entering, first-year dental students have neither the skills nor the training to locate, evaluate, and retrieve evidence-based information, supporting previous observations from this group [ Peserico embellished neckline tank top Sale Official Site Free Shipping 2018 Newest oUEgFKKivA
]. More importantly, this study is among the first to evaluate what search engines and databases these students preferred and how helpful, useful, or difficult they ranked each of these technologies. Finally, this study provided evidence that suggested student preference for the use of Google to search for information was more closely associated with an incorrect response than any other search engine or database evaluated.

These findings suggest that many of the links, references, and data returned by Google searches are not appropriate for use in an evidence-based curriculum. Although the survey found that students clearly prefer to utilize Google, either based upon familiarity or ease of use [ 10 ], the references and citations many of the students reported were, in fact, advertisements, promotional materials, foreign media sources, and even personal websites (including one Facebook page reference). These findings provide an impetus for faculty and administrators to recognize that training and skills-based experience with online resources may be lacking, even among university-level students. These data now suggest some initial answers to the question "Why not just Google it?"

Interestingly, student preference for PubMed was strongly associated with the ability to demonstrate ILS. Although some variability was evident between the two cohorts examined, student preference for PubMed was less likely to be associated with an incorrect response in both cohorts. Moreover, preference for PubMed was clearly evident among students with correct responses in both cohorts (>85%).

One promising result from this study was that a simple, well-constructed, one-hour intervention led by an ILS library specialist, may be sufficient to effectively help students. This included information on how to perform online information searches, how to assess the quality and reliability of databases, and detailed instruction to find information that is evidence-based and academically appropriate. These findings also suggest the need for placing this type of curricular instruction very early in a medical- or graduate-level health sciences curriculum, to ensure that all students, regardless of their background and academic training, have equal opportunities for success in their educational programs.

Previous studies of information literacy found some associations between race and gender. These data may suggest these factors might limit access to computers, internet access, and research-based coursework for female and minority students [ 19 ]. However, the current study found that although minorities comprised a relatively large percentage of the overall student cohort population (47.4%), they represented a disproportionately small percentage of students who were unable to complete the assignment (20%). Although it is possible that recent University-wide initiatives to address disparities and access among college-level females and minorities may be responsible for these results, other limitations of the study design must also be considered relevant. For example, although previous studies have found that age was often a significant factor [ Faith Connexion Do It Your Way Tshirt Buy Cheap Footaction Buy Cheap Fast Delivery Inexpensive Online Buy Cheap Websites New Styles Cheap Online Q19IzjOt1
], this study used a convenience sample of dental students that was biased toward relative youth (average age = 25.4 years old) and found no such association.

Due to the study design of consecutive dental student cohorts, the sample size and diversity of the student populations evaluated was somewhat limited. In addition, this study was conducted at a public institution, which may have also had multiple interconnected effects on the types of students who applied, and were admitted, to this particular institution.
